Toby Karlin

Musician

After a typical false start on the piano when he was seven, he began playing the saxophone at age 11. He plays the full range of saxophones from soprano to bass, along with numerous other instruments - including drums, hand percussion, bass guitar, electric and acoustic guitar, keyboards and the nose flute!

After attending The Colburn School for the Performing Arts while in high school, he spent four years at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He graduated from Berklee in 2007 with a BA in Professional Music, the study of which included Performance, Production, Engineering, and Composition.

After touring across the country (visiting 39 states) with The Remus Lupins, he continued recording and performing as a multi-instrumentalist with two independent rock bands, Riot! Riot! in Los Angeles and Captain Pablo, which was formed at Berklee and continues to record even though members are scattered around the world. He works at International Woodwinds Inc. where they make, repair and sell a variety of woodwind instruments. He also offers private lessons to pupils in a positive learning environment to further their skills on any of the above instruments.

He has composed and performed music for almost all Invertigo projects, and he and Laura continue to collaborate often - as siblings and as artists.

Collaborators

Invertigo is fortunate to work with many great dancers and other artists. We are a constantly evolving group - check back often to see who we're working with! We work with a wide range of artists and are always looking for the next collaborative possibilities
