Chelsea Asman

Chelsea Asman is from Ontario, California.  She is a graduate of Chapman University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance; where she received training from Tiffany Billings, Jennifer Backhaus, Sean Greene, Cyrus Parker-Jeanette, and Dale Merrill. Chelsea was given the Fannie Kalis Award, and received an award for Outstanding Performance in Dance. Chelsea has performed with Spectrum Dance in Chicago at the Jazz Dance World Congress, Sean Greene’s “Uncle Sean’s Story Time”, and Kurogo Production’s “The Plastiques”, along with opportunities afforded her by Chapman University to travel to Salt Lake City, Utah, Long Beach and Sacramento, California as a performer for American College Dance Festival. Chelsea is sponsored by Tifwear, fashion for fit, the new clothing line by choreographer Tiffany Billings; with whom she has performed in fashion shows at The Gaslamp in Long Beach, California as well as the Equinox gym in San Francisco, California.

In conjunction with performing Chelsea has directed shows such as “Annie” and “The Wizard of OZ” at Leal Elementary School in Cerritos, CA. Her work was also shown in the 2007 Emerging Above Ground Choreographer’s Festival. Currently Chelsea is a member of Diavolo Dance Theatre’s Education Company, Method Contemporary Dance Company, and Invertigo Dance Theatre.

She has performed with Invertigo at ARTBash, SpringDance, our dance film When There Was Water, Reeling and  a performance-workshop for InvertED at Inner-City Arts.
