A proud Michigander, Sadie Yarrington began dancing in the wonderful city of Ann Arbor. In 2011 she received a B.F.A in Dance and B.S. in Anthropology from the University of Michigan. She caught the travel bug and in the fall of 2012 relocated to Los Angeles after exploring, training and performing in Cuba (Oyu Oro Afro-Cuban Experimental Dance Ensemble), Australia (Buzz Dance Theatre, BalletLab), and New York (Sounds in Motion). Since then, Sadie has worked with choreographers such as Dianne McIntyre and Stephan Koplowitz. A passionate educator, Sadie is a teaching artist at Culver City High School, Inner-City Arts, and is the Outreach Associate for Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre where she develops, implements and runs dance residencies all throughout Los Angeles. In June 2014 she completed teaching her first Invert/Ed residency and looks forward to continuing her work with Invertigo's education programming. Sadie had the pleasure of attending the 2nd International Teaching Artist Conference in Brisbane, Australia and is thrilled to continue the local and global conversation about the importance of the arts in education.
In the next 10 years she'd like to improvise her way across the country and in 20 years from now...have boogied around the world! Sadie joined Invertigo Dance Theatre in June 2013 and is still eager, excited and humbled at the opportunity to be a part of such a quirky and loving family!
