"Skyscrapers may be under construction in downtown Los Angeles, but it's dance that breaks ground [for Moves After Dark] at the Music Center." - LA Times

The Music Center’s Moves After Dark™ returns for a second season, featuring four contemporary dance companies that will provide compelling and inventive performances in a variety of non-traditional performance spaces around The Music Center campus.
Held on nights when The Music Center theatres are typically “dark,” or not in use, Moves After Dark asks audiences to travel to where the dancers are performing and select their own vantage point. Audiences will be guided in rotating groups, watching separate performances simultaneously, and then joining together at the end of the evening for the final performance.
Invertigo will create a dance that explores the velvety red sea of seats of The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, turning this unusual performance space into a stage, an ocean, a sculpture garden, a wilderness and more. Audience etiquette will be flipped inside-out as the unexpected becomes the norm; dancers will navigate the line between spectator and spectacle.
Approximately 2 hours. Each evening will feature the same companies and works.
