Invertigo Dance Theatre presents "Revelries and Reveries" – a curtain-raiser for the Independent Shakespeare Company's Twelfth Night, in Barnsdall Park.
August 7, 8, 16 and 20th, 2008
Laura Karlin choreographed this piece for the Independent Shakespeare Company's 2008 season around the themes of Twelfth Night. Five dancers become crashing waves, clueless serenading lovers and wild revelers in the night. Three musicians create a lively score onstage, playing over 12 instruments. It's an imaginative prelude to the performances of the play, infused with Invertigo Dance Theatre's accessible, innovative and witty style.
Invertigo is committed to building an LA dance institution and expanding the enjoyment for contemporary dance. By working with the Independent Shakespeare Company, we bring free dance theatre to a new audience.
