Chelsea Roquero

Chelsea Roquero (she/her), born in Escondido, CA, is a first generation Filipino-American dancer based in LA. Roquero grew up as a gymnast and progressively found her love for Hip Hop dance in her early years. She later started her formal dance training at San Diego Mesa College under the direction of Donna Flournoy. She then transferred to California State University, Long Beach in 2017, and later received her BA in Dance in 2019. She is interested in blending her backgrounds in hip hop and gymnastics with contemporary technique alongside being able to incorporate human emotion and tactile sensation in her movement. She has trained with Melissa Adao, Rebecca Lemme, Gracie Whyte, and Keith Johnson. Chelsea has perform works by many local LA artists including Camila Arana, Invertigo Dance Theatre, Carlon Dance, as well as been a Guest Artist with Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company. Most days, you can find Chelsea at Stomping Ground LA, where she is a proud to be part of a team that is dedicated to providing a safe space for the development, creation, and sharing of artistic work by LA dance artists with the community.
