A community showcase featuring our beloved Dancing Through Parkinson’s community and Guest Artist, Joaquin Gamboa. We’re honored to celebrate the holidays with you with salsa, new friends, and joyful connections through dance and music!

Joaquin Gamboa, Guest Artist

Bio:

Joaquin’s love for dance started in his birthplace, Mexico City. There at a young age he was invited to audition to be part of folk dance group for his elementary school and
was asked to continue every year after.

Once he immigrated to U.S.A. he started his technical training in college, where he trained in a variety of dance styles from Ballet to Hip-Hop to even Medieval time dance.

In 1997 he received the dancer of the year award from his community college and soon after that started performing throughout San Diego in different musical theater productions, he continued till 2010 when he decided to take some time off from his dancing shoes to concentrate in educational goals.

In 2017 during a trip to Malawi Africa, Joaquin is invited to teach a ballroom class to University students, is there where his love for dance is rekindled and decides to start teaching again. A week after coming back to the states Joaquin drives from California to Utah to get certified in LaBlast, the dance fitness format he now uses to teach most of his classes.

Since then Joaquin has been teaching Ballroom, Social Dance and LaBlast classes to school grade students and adults.

He is excited to share his passion for dance and make a better world, one dance class at a time.
